Anyways, I've had this card for a while.. I never had any problems with it before... first I had it on on a p133, then on a cel 400 system, now back to the same p133 system since I got another sound card (I set up a LAN between the two computer a while back)

Anyway, the sound output now for it is... not very good. At first I thought it might be the new cheaper speakers, but using my earphones (which sound fine on the new system) produces the same problems.

Now, I think I know what the problem might be... When I put the card back in the computer, it redetected it, along with 3 UNKNOWN devices.. I think this might be screwing things up.. as I think these unknown devices have to do with the soundcard...

Any help would be appreciated,

Medieval

Just to elminate some possible answers, I checked all the physical connections /forum/smile.gif

And, Windows sees no problem with the soundcard itself (no IRQ conflicts, drivers)

everything works fine in directX tests too

The unknown devices are probably the gameport joystick, wavetable midi, and the serial wave device for voice modem (or something along these lines). Just click on them in device manager & update the drivers, using the driver disk that came with the SB16.
Hope this helps /forum/smile.gif

Yeah, that's what I think they are..

I've tried using the disk and the latest drivers from Creative... nothing seems to work.. hrmm.
