I'm a gamer at heart and wanted to know what a good percentage was for having free resources for gaming. Currently I'm now down to 84% because I have the following items in my system tray:

Task scheduler
Volume control
Virus scan console
VShield
Diamond Monster Sound
Diamond Stealth II S220

Do I really need all these?
Thx.

Most games are unhappy with virus software, so disable it for off-line gaming. 84% isn't bad. There is not much left for you to dump. How much memory do you have? Processor? Need more info..

in my opinion - you dont need any of that stuff. you can disable all of it, and reclaim a lot of your resources

i agree with the doctor. drop it all. do you really need a volume control open? I simply HATE having stuff open I dont use.

in fact while your at it unplug your mouse and keyboard until you have to use them. they just take up ports.

I agree with the doctor too. How often do you click on one of those icons? If it is not often, disable it. Even the virus, except when you are online. Especially get rid of my nemisis- the task scheduler! /forum/smile.gif
