The FIC 503+ arrived with the ATX case. MultiWave's sales people "checked" and told me it came with only AT power connections. They were wrong.
However... nothing works. No fans, nada. I tried the known good power supply from the old AT box as well. (Yes, I switched the jumper back to AT and we caught the error in the manual regarding AT hookup.)The ps fan doesn't start in either case with this board.
This is with just ram & processor in place, video card, hard drives & floppy.
I guess just to be extra sure I can take this one down and try the new ATX ps in it.
Since the AT has its own switch, what could keep it from powering up on this board?

It could be a case short. If the back of the board is shorting out against the case, it may not start at all. Have you tried it with the motherboard out of the case completely? Also on the AT powersupply make sure you have the two connectors to the motherboard oriented so that the black wires are together. I know that is basic, but I still occasionally do it myself sometimes. The ATX power supply requires that you use the soft power button connector on the motherboard for the switch. In a pinch you can just short across the two pins, but make very sure you only touch the two pins for the power switch together.

That board is entirely too complex to setup on the jumper side of things also. Double check you have everything just right. It should at least power up with incorrect jumper settings, but you never know.

Thanks 800XL!
I knew I'd seen this posted before, but that didn't occur to me.
I've tried it out of the case, still nada.
The processor was from my original 'puter which was damaged in shipping, and that's the only component that isn't known good or new.
I agree about the jumpers. This is only my second 'puter build, the first was an Abit and much easier!
My main motivation in choosing the 503 was the 4 simm slots and we all know what the story is on ram right now...
Guess it's rma time.
