First, I just want to thank everyone that replied to my ealier post. Unfourtunatly, none of the suggestions worked. But I think I have figured out that I have a bad hard drive.I took the hd out of another system and the new system booted right up, when I hooked the hd that I thought might be bad up to the system that the good hd came out of, it gave me a no operating system error and so I tried to fdisk it and it said no drive found, so I'm assuming that it's just a bad drive, I tried everything I can think of(and some of you for that matter). Now the question is, where can I get anither one that they won't charge an arm and a leg for. All I need is something around a 3 gig IDE drive. I could go to compusa and get a 13 gig wd for $169, but I don't need anything that big and I think it's stupid to have to pay have that price or better for a hard drive less than a quarter of that size. Any suggestions? Thanks C.C.

Sorry for the topic spelling....the last few days have been real long...........

i didnt see your last post, so i dont know what you have tried to fix it, but have you tried using a zero fill utility? i had a hard drive that fdisk wouldnt recognize, and after i used a zero fill utility on it, it detected it fine... might as well see if it works before you buy a hard drive....

anyways, if you still need to buy one, go to http://www.pricewatch.com and you can find a 3 gig drive for like 70-80 bucks
