Seems that the more likely someone was to have voted for Bush and supported his war, the less liley they were to send their kids off to be killed in Iraq.
A study of those who died in Iraq by geography found that whites from small, mostly poor, rural areas made up a disproportionately large percentage of the casualties in Iraq.
Do the afluent really think that those worse off than them should be the ones to fight the wars of the rich?

That is not to hard to figure. The majority of young men in the country are from poor rural areas of the country. Only 10% of the country controls 90% of the wealth. Don't loose ant sleep over it.

Was the article to long for you to read, so you came up with this simplistic view.
Bush is supported mainly by families which fall into the above average income bracket, if it were only the 10% who control 90% of the wealth, that voted for him then he wouldn't stand a chance of being elected.
It was the same in the Vietnam era, the poor did the dying for the patriotic wealthier. Seems this time without conscription, the pool of young men to die for there country is even easier to catagorise.
Until the children or eligible relatives of politicians make up an average of frontline troops, then the rest of the country need not be concerned about taking up the slack for cannon fodder, or should I say, car bomb casualities.
It is surprising, if there is any truth in ukes statement, that the majority of young men 17 to 30 or whatever the eligible age group is, in the USA live in poor rural communities, I would have thought that most people of that age would live in urban areas, around towns and cities.

You are thinking of the blacks and hispanics. BTW, I don't waste time reading any articles posted by Zibby or you Wertz. You forget I live in America. What you two don't know about this country I could write a book on.
What you know about the rest of the world would fit on a postage stamp. Finding your way home from work would be the limit of your horizon.
Probably why you work from home.
Lets face it, when the majority of the population thought that the middle east was somewhere in eastern states, it's a worry, and it took Usama bin Liner to wake them up to the fact it was somewhere else.
With fox news as there window to the world, all 5 mins of a 30 min program.
It's gonna be a while before things change.
What little I know of the USA is definately more than you know of here, or anywhere else for that matter.
But when your president is as thick as two short planks, what does it say for the rest of ya for electing him.

It'd probably be a very short book, in large print, made out of cardboard so it won't get damaged by people chewing instead of reading it, with big pictures of a goat (http://blogger.xs4all.nl/images/blogger_xs4all_nl/wdegroot/3560/r_chigoat.jpg) to keep your prez interested :)

Again I ask, why is 'pounds' abrevaited to 'lbs'?
Kilograms to Kgs makes sense, but how on earth do we get 'lbs'?

Usually POUND (when it refers to weight) is abbreviated "lb.", The Latin word for pound is LIBRA
So there we go :t

Listen, you two nerd suckers, for the first and last time, there is no grass skirts in Hawaii. Grass is for smoking, fornicating in and covering roofs. The skirts are made out of the leaves of the lahala tree, otherwise known as a haole pinapple because the seed pods look something lke a pinapple and the haoles (foriegners) think pinapples grow in trees. ;)

Course they don't. You need a high powered rifle and a chopper to hunt down a pineapple. And bananas are a type of fish.

Pineapples are dangerous animals. You wouldn't want to make a cake with one.

It's not that pineapples can fly really, the cows use them for kicking contests and the locals use them for footballs, so it just looks that way.
Did you ever catch a 6 lb pineapple that was thrown from 80 yards out. Trust me it's messy but sweeeet. :-@
