The ATX boards use a "momentary" contact switch. Some "alternate action" buttons have a part that can be removed to make them momentary.
Or, an ordinary doorbell button will work.

503+ hmmm? Sorry about that. I have two of those boards and they okay but not great.
Another simple solution to your problem would be to return the case for a refund and buy a micro AT case locally for $20
Thanks Roy, CMonster... I'm way out in the boonies here. I paid $50 just for a power supply locally when it was urgent.
That's why I do all I can online.
Back to the desktop case we hoped to stop using I guess.

My 503+ does indeed have both AT and ATX power connectors on the board. The "power switch" in an ATX case goes to the motherboard instead of the power supply as it does in AT setups.
Pretty much, that board should go in either AT or ATX cases. I have mine right now sitting in an ATX case with an AT plate in the back. If you bought the case new, it likely came with a changable plate that provides an AT placed keyboard port hole instead of the stock ATX key/mouse/etc plate. I don't think you will have much problem no matter what case you have.
To counter CMonster's less than glowing review of the 503+, I have to say I've been happy with mine. The only problem I have with it is the huge amount of jumpers it uses. It is very easy to get one jumper wrong and take up your whole day checking them. With configurability comes complexity I guess.
I bought the 503+ almost a year ago and started it in my old AT case. It worked fine in there even with my old SDRAM. Eventually I had to upgrade my case b/c the old power supply wasn't giving enough juice to the components (causing them to mess up) and picked up an ATX case w/ a 250W PS at a local OEM dealer. All I did was change the one jumper on the board to tell it that it was now receiving an ATX power supply and it worked fine after that. I wonder if there was something else I had to do after that...
FIC is vague on many things, including which power connections are on some of their boards. I ordered the 503+ and an ATX case based on reviews that claim it comes with both AT & ATX power connections.
Silly me!
It's more than just replacing the power supply with an AT tho isn't it? There's the button on the front of the case that the power supply lead goes to, isn't there? That was one of the things broken in shipping on my last AT style pc.
Is there a simple workaround?
