Qestion what is this is that mb or is that kilobyts? and what is all this. P.S. I have 2gigs of hdd left and 128 total of ram 64,32,32. pc100 oh is it safe to mess with cas timing in bios i have auto and manual settings.

look for the file win386.swp, this will say how much virtual ram your computer is using. 3 times is what some recommend, i think 2 is better, because, i found that the greater the # is, the slower it gets.

1,048,576 bytes=1 mega byte, some harddrive makers say 1,000,000=1 mega byte, 1048576 i think is correct.

i don't know about "cas timing", i ask someone (on another forum) about this once, and got no answer. people here will help.

you probably have something like this, hard disk: c:\ 2048mb free. which means 2 gigabyte (1024x2 giga). 185 is megabyte. 185mb

You didn't mention which site you visited, but here is good one for explaining the Swap File and how to optimize it, if you haven't seen it yet.

epsilon.silicon.net.my/adrian/ (http://epsilon.silicon.net.my/adrian/)

Swap Optimization Guide link.

PC100 SDRAM - if it's rated Cas L 2, suggest setting it at Cas L 3 - it is more stable. And if your SDRAM is Cas L 3 then run it at Cas L 3.
