I bought a used pentium hx chipset mainboard, and can't get it to boot. It has no manual or jumper settings or anything, and I can't tell who the manufacturer is by looking at the board. The board will post, and even autodetect the hard drive, but it always gives a no keyboard error. The keyboard lights light up all at once..(num lock, scroll lock, caps lock) But you can't hit delete or f1 to resume or anything. It is an AT board, but has a ps2 keyboard connector, thought that was sorta weird. Could this be a prob w/ the cpu I've got plugged in it?? I tried a 133 pentium and it woudln't even post, and w/ a 166+ cyrix it reads as a 66mhx chip. Is this really probably a dead mb due to the keyboard port being out? or is it more like a setting or jumper wrong or something??? Any advice is appreciated

You might try a different keyboard. I had the same type of problem with a few Compaqs I was upgrading for work. They would give a kb error when booting with their own kb, but when I used an IBM kb no probs on POST. Go figure?
