It's based on a Trinitron Tube as you know and I do understand there should be two horizontal lines visable but beyond these two lines, when looking more into it, I see vertical lines on those two lines too.
They sorta like crampled up paper patches and they are sorta visable when I just stare at my monitor.
The another one is Moire patterns when light colors are displayed by their own..
I need to set the set the moire reduction to max to prevent most of this but the vertical lines are still visable. The last is the strange reddish patterns that looks sorta foggy at diagonal corners..

Could it be of a signal degration of the video cable? Does it sound like it?
The patterns(Except moire) are not as yet 'too' serious, but do ya think calling up engineers to fix it now is a real stupid thing to do? Thanks!

I too have a pr711T CTX monitor. With a monitor of this size it is often the case that interference is far more obvious, especially at high resolutions. Do you have any magnets (perhaps from speakers) or a tv near the unit? If I turn on my portable tv I get quite a bad picture at high res.
There are a couple of things that you could try:
1. try tapping the monitor **LIGHTLY** at the edges.
2. Make sure that the power supply to the monitor is clean and that there are not too many devices running from the same outles
3. Using a program like paintbrush, display a clean white image for a couple of minutes. For some reason this helps clear up the display.

Dont forget there is a chance that your monitor is faulty but I doubt that very much. If all else fails try tech support.
Have a nice day... /forum/smile.gif

I bought the same monitor for my father but don't know from your description whether we've had the same problem.

However, I did have trouble with moire and shadowing off to the right when I was using an old video card at a refresh rate beyond its capability... changing to a better video card, and also updating my monitor drivers made a big difference. Have you tried the monitor with a different computer or video card?
