If I remember correctly, 6x DVD's read Cd's @ 20 or 24x as a standard. Don't take me to court on it though.

I think that it depends on the company, but a 6X DVD would be faster then 24X in CD-ROM mode. My Toshiba 5X runs at 24X CD-ROM.

lol.. that's a good one apostle.... Thanks for your reply guys, I'm sure that helped me a lot.. btw Is there a program where I can measure the write speed of this DVD ROM drive on a standard program not DVD?? And of course all the I/O Magic owner is welcome to reply and let me know.. One thing though, when I tried to make an MP3 it reads at about 3.89X or sometimes it gets into 4.01X on AudioCatalyst. So that means it only reads at 4X or so.. This is crackin me up..if it's at least 20X or higher, how do I make it read like that on regular or standard CD??? Please help me out here coz I'm thinking about returning this product. But of course if it reads 20X at least or higher, I'd keep it coz it's a nice DVD player.... Flawless on DVD movies.... Thanks. /forum/smile.gif /forum/biggrin.gif /forum/wink.gif

Try a different benchmark because I don't score much better than that in AC with my ATAPI 32x CD-ROM. Try wintune.
