On equipment using hard drives for backup we use one hand drive SCSI ID 1 for main and then set dip switches on the other for SCSI ID 6. All new drives I look at does not have dip switches for adjustment to ID 6.

How do I know what the SCSI settings for a hard drive is and how do I change it.

Thanks.

That's an obvious case of RTFM.

Visit the drive manufacturer's website, download the drive's instruction manual, and go from there.

What HDDs are you using?

Maxtor SCSI HDDs have switches on the main board and on the back end too. I use the switches on the main HDD board, as there are more configuration options to choose from.
