You simply use this program to split a file into a specified size (1.3MB to fit floppies) and it creates files along with a batch file to put it back together. It's called JLC Split It 95. Take a look! http://home.earthlink.net/~someguy3/#WhatIsIt Eli 10-06-1999, 10:37 PM Go to www.winfiles.com and search for file spitters. I recently downloaded and used one (Winsplit I think) and it worked beautifully. krusty 10-06-1999, 11:34 PM Winzip can do it. fishboy 10-07-1999, 09:15 AM Sure! Pkzip a:filename.zip -& name of file. Piece of cake! emcron 10-07-1999, 09:40 AM A bit of advice, test the files after you are done. A lot of times I've had to do this and it would'nt work. Or you could just save yourself the trouble and buy and external zip drive. Does anyone know what happened to the zip plus drives? They just seemed to disapper. nk4 10-07-1999, 10:10 AM OK here is exactly how to do it in winzip: Start a new winzip file. Drag the large file or folder with files and dump it there. On the next screen type the path such as for example: a:\large.zip and have an empty disc in the drive The rest should be easy. If you want to break a large already zipped file put it in a folder first and zip the folder otherwise it might not work darrell 10-08-1999, 07:34 AM Do a search at download.com or any other shareware site and look for WinRar. It will do it for you easily. AND, most times with better compression than with Winzip. It will split the files into however big you want them. MickMitani 10-09-1999, 12:21 AM If you decide to go the drive route, do not buy a Zip drive. A CD-R or CD-RW drive is the way to go, and internal 2x2x6 drives can be had for under $100. Blank CDR disks are under a buck each and CD-RW disks can be had for a couple of bucks each. SysOpt.com
