Tweb 08-09-2005, 09:46 PM B4 I bought my new 6800GT, wow it smokes in all games, I went to as many manufacturers web site forums as I could to see the problems purchasers were having. BFG, XFX, PNY, ChainTech, eVGA an other, most had good responses from the tech guys, but I think I learned 1 thing, most of the problems were caused by the user not installing the drivers right, having an nForce3 board that don't like the 6800GT's OR they OC an are now CRYING to tech support for help :) I settled on a eVGA 6800GT, the forum are VARY active with all kinds of help an most of the problems were user based! The only problem I had with this card is when I un-installed the old drivers it un-installed my MB drivers, no problem just had to re-install them. Made a BIG 1.2K difference in 3dMark05 from the M$ drivers to the nForce drivers! RockNRoll 08-09-2005, 10:35 PM I will say BFG Tech. They have 24/7 tech support, OC'ed speeds, and XFX I have heard has many DOA cards. CrazyCrusher 08-10-2005, 01:45 AM I had an XFX for about 2 months and it took a dive, so I went to MSI, but BFG beat out xfx by a long shot. Newbie2 08-10-2005, 08:33 AM I have an XFX video card and it is still running. I have a mainstream XFX video card because my 3D graphic needs are not very high. The GPU of my XFX video card is an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 and video memory is 256MB. Someone I know has a BFG video card. It has the same NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 GPU and 256MB of video memory but his card is overclocked while my card is running at stock speeds. XFX overclocked their 7800 GTX PCI Express card higher than BFG Tech overclocked theirs so I guess XFX is better in the 7800 GTX market. But don't forget to vote on the poll! Newbie2 08-10-2005, 09:26 AM Guys, I'm seeing no votes on the poll! Please, remember to vote on the poll! MJCfromCT 08-10-2005, 10:09 AM Of the two, I'd go with BFG. Overall, I'd go with EVGA. Rabbitrunner51 08-12-2005, 04:39 AM Thats good to hear becuase i have a EGVA card and it has never caused ny problems ever. BFG may give the most bang for the buck as the above mentioned...with OC warranties and all... God.. I just saw a X800XT going for $249.00 at tiger.com I guess the video card prices have come down.... i would get that in a heartbeat if I had the cash right now. RockNRoll 08-12-2005, 10:40 AM If I remember correctly the 6800's weren't this low either. The 6600GT price is just plain saddening seeing that's what I paid for my 5900 which is now discontinued LOL. Must be the 7800's causing the price to drop. :t Just another $70-$80 or so off the 6800GT and I'd snag one. SysOpt.com
