I have a 3.2GB Quantum FireBall ST that I cannot fdisk or format. Fdisk /mbr, zero-filling, Disk manager from the manufacturer, nothing works. Everytime I reboot the same two partitions are there along with all the data. Does anyone know of any utilities to try?

Are you still able to boot to that drive and have the data seen/read and written to it?

Windows NT magazine issue Summer 1999 has an article "Blasting MBRs." In brief, if fdisk /mbr doesn't work you have to enter debug mode to zero out mbr. If you want to start from scratch the article will give you a step-by-step approach.

I can boot to the drive and see data but I cannot write or delete anything.
