1 beep 8 beeps 2 beeps then....
no start?
what the heck happened?
have old 486 pc. Turned it on and all I get now is 1 beep then 8 quick beeps then 2 beeps ..no picture..nothin...monitor not even coming on...no hard drive boot...nothing????

Hello sweeper.. Well on all the computers when you hear a beep there could only be two things... One, check your video card if it's inserted firmly to your motherboard. Two, your memory.. Make sure they are all inserted firmly and nicely.. You may wanna take all your cards ( soundcard, modem etc. ) and the cable to your hard drive ( I'm sure you have an IDE controller card too. You can take that off too. ) then turn your computer on.. I hope that helps and try to post here what happened.. =)

also mix up the memory, I've had 486's not start becuause of one bad stick.

It was a bad video card....Sucks though. IT was a 2 meg..the only thing I can find around now is a 512k STB...very slow... /forum/frown.gif
