I can't connect to sites with this protocol!!!! I am running IE 5 and windows 98, 128 mram, and can access all http protocol sites. What is the deal?

Try:

ftp://ftp.microsoft.com

Are you on a LAN? If so, perhaps your proxy settings are messed up.
