I've just done a clean install of windows xp sp2 using a WD Raptor. I partitoned the drive just about in half. I fear I may have missed a step because I only see C Drive with about 35 gb available
Did I miss a second step and not see a prompt to create a partition for the remainder of the HD?
I found disk management after a few minutes--only the c drive showing with about 35 gb available...the size I used for a partition.
Is there a fix that will not cause require me to reformat the disk?...
I read through the posts but didn't see anything quite like this- but close-
So thanks thanks in advance.

No, Windows only is concerned about the one partition that it will be installed on.
You need to create and foramat any other partitions after you are within Windows.
Look in control panel under administration tools, computer management, disk management.

the winxp setup only creates the system partition. other partitions need to made from the disk management console (diskmgmt.msc)
why?
1) it speeds up the install process
2) it is easier to configure partitions from a GUI
run diskmgmt.msc (or follow Sterling's instructions). right click in the empty space on the drive, create a partition, then format (don't forget to use quick format).

Thanks Guys ...worked like a charm...last step it seem is case fans and fp light. Any experience with a Thermaltake Shark?
Front fan doesn't run and led doesn't like...I suspect a power cord there... but this motherboard regulates fans...seems some bios tweaking is in order...
