My mom is using a Cyrix 133 system using a PCChips 575 MB and 64mb of ram w/ windows 98. After the Windows 98 screen appears, another screen appears called Microsoft Registry Checker. It displays a message saying there were errors in the configuration files, and Windows has replaced them with good versions. The system reboots, but this same message appears. She gets this message 5/6 times before she actually can get in the system. Any peripherals that were installed before the message appears are no longer detected. What is going on?

try going into safe mode and see if it works fine, if it doesnt your copy of windows sounds like it going bad, you should prob. just try re-installing windows. Other than that, I know win95 doesnt have that option were it automatically restores the registry file, thats all I can think of.
