When I boot up I get a,
confliction I/O port: 2F8
This happens right after it checks for the drives and stuff. It gives me an option to hit F1 and conitue.
Specs:
Soyo 5EMA+
450 K6-2
64mb ram
Ati All-in-wonder pro
Diamond Stealth 2000
Mpeg-2 Decoder card
sound blaster 16
sporster 56 v.90 modem
I need to know what that error means.

I/O 2F8 is usually COM2 and if your modem is set for COM2, it is conflicting.

Go to your BIOS and disable COM2 and see if that helps.

If I disable it will my modem still work. Also it is a new machine I just built and I did not put an OS on it yet.

Never mind, in stead of disabling it I put it auto and that fixed. Thanks.

P.S. All my other questions have been fixed I just do not want to put them back on top just to say thank you.
