internet protocol address
machine id, location, and...?

have been uniquely identified by a cretin and wish to have the advantage that dial-up enjoys, dynamic addressing

how do I change ip address?
how often is it necessary?
exactly what is the theory behind changing ip address?
how does the DNS KNOW that it is randomly assigning a unique address for a machine since it theoretically does not have access to the OTHER ip addresses

thank you thank you

you would usually use DHCP so that your ISP automatically assigns your IP.

why do you want to change your IP?

There is No rules and regulation to the IP assignment each ISP has its own “Shticks”.

I have a Cable Internet connection. It does not matter what I do, Log in Out disconnected etc. it would stay the same for about 6 weeks.

On the other hand I also have DSL. It always obtains a new IP. If I switch Off the Modem, even if I would do this within few minutes, it would obtain a new the IP. If I leave the connection none stop On it would automatically change the IP after few days.

In you need special arrangements you can call the ISP, many of them, for the right price, can be much more Flexible.
