Problem similar to one posted by Hippo123.
Am building a PC. Abit BE6 motherboard, Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG, Intel PIII 450Mhz. Installed AGP graphics card, hooked up monitor and keyboard and powered up. Got a single beep, keyboard appeared to be initialized, and the BIOS banner appeared, with memory count, identification of the CPU, and detection of my primary hard drive.
CPU however was identified as 300Mhz, not 450Mhz. Also showed CMOS cheksum error - defaults loaded. The F1 and DEL keys were identified for purposes of proceeding or entering setup, but striking the DEL key on my keyboard produced nothing, as did striking the F1 key. In short, the system acted as though it had crashed. My keyboard LED's responded to Scroll Lock, NumLock and Caps Lock but the system responded to nothing. I am dead in the water at this point. Have tried two different keyboards, with same results. Any ideas?

You should hit the delete key soon after it autodetects the hard drive (I assume you have it set up to autodetect?) You should see a message towards the bottom of the screen while the system is first POSTing... like right after it tells you that the processor is 300MHz... Look for "press del to enter setup"
