HOUSTON (Reuters) - A Texas jury on Monday sentenced a woman who cut off her boyfriend's wang to eight years in prison.

Delmy Ruiz, 49, had testified that she sliced off Rene Aramando Nunez' kahoonah with a kitchen knife while he slept because she feared him after he raped her.

But prosecutors charged Ruiz was a jealous woman who took revenge because she believed Aramando was cheating on her.

The jury found her guilty of aggravated assault on Friday and came back on Monday for sentencing. She could have faced a maximum of 20 years in jail.

Ruiz will not be eligible for parole until she has served half her sentence and could be deported to El Salvador, her native country, after leaving jail, prosecutors said.

There comes a time when ppl are ready for something "meaningful" in their life, something more. When you're tired of the useless stuff... ya know? (hmm probably not  )

Living together is OK when you feel it's the right person... or else you're just losing your time, energy and emotion on a empty relationship! :(

It's not getting married to anyone at all cost, for just any reason... but getting married to the right person... Yea...!

I'm all for marriage - but only once!

It shows a certain commitment that 99% of women require at some stage in life - no matter what they may say while you're cuddling as long term bf\gf.

IMO no woman feels complete without having been married at least once - whether it works or not is beside the point entirely.

Take it from a boyfriend of 18yrs, husband of 9yrs & brother to 6 women for 41yrs.

Marriage (in the legal sense) is for total suckers. Why else do more than 2/3 of marriages last less than 5 years. One of the two get suckered into a relationship where they have no idea of the consequences and probable failure of it.
Anyone getting married should HAVE to undergo a 6 month course or something and be forced to spend their every waking moment with their other half to see if they have what it takes to stick with each other and not go knife crazy.

Absense makes the Heart grow fonder. :p

and there's a perfect partner for everyone - it's knowing who they are when you meet them that counts.

Maybe I should become a councillor! :)

No its not healthy, but a few days of constant 'togetherness' can be a really good indicator of whether you'll get along with the other person on a long term basis.

I was married for 27 years, to a woman who never complained if we were broke, never asked for anything when we were loaded, was always happy to see me when I came home, whether from a few hours at work or away for a few weeks, she let me go out when ever I wanted to without arguing, what makes me sad is I never told her enough times how lucky I was to have married her.

Now, 27 days is an achievement.
