PARIS (Reuters) - The French think they are good looking.

Eight out of 10 French people check their looks in the mirror at least once a day and say they like what they see, a survey by polling group BVA published this week showed.

Men seem to be more content than women, with 88 percent of them saying they like their looks -- compared to 73 percent of women.

While a majority of women are happy overall with their appearance, only 1 percent think of themselves as beautiful and just 11 percent say they are feminine, the survey of 954 people conducted in April showed.

Despite people's overall satisfaction when looking into the mirror, some 42 percent in the croissant and cheese-loving nation said they wanted to shed some weight. One person in 10 said they checked their weight every day.

I am french, and I can't go without showering at least once a day.. I've been around plenty of Americans who don't seem to taking bathing all that serioulsy either..

Just goes to show.. stinky people are everywhere!
