I Want to thank J_k. So kind from you to help.
I had the idea to disconnect the keyboard and I got the same error message. Then the computer did boot to windows NT but obviously there is no keyboard.

Then I connected back the keyboard but the problem persists.

Then I changed the jumber for the bios to set to default setting but nothing again.

The amazing thing is that the computer did boot without the keyboard.
I got the message "BIOS TIME AND DATE NOT SET" but then did boot to NT.
But there have to press CTRL ALT and DEL to logon.

I have the impression that I am very near to a solution but I don't know what it is.

One question is:
why keyboard does not respond at all?

Where can I see the maker of the motherboard.
I checked on the motherboard but couldn't find any maker only made in Ireland and some numbers, but no name.

This is my problem: (Follow up for the others)
I cannot reboot my computer and I get the following error message:
"BIOS TIME AND DATE NOT SET
Press F1 to enter SETUP or ESC to boot"
Before that the BIOS detects all peripherals like keyboard, the two hard disks and the CDROM which I can see them on the screen.
Hard disk 0 installed
CDROM TOSHIBA installed..........
Hard Disc 1 WDC installed........
Now, when I press F1 or ESC nothing happens the pc is dead and cannot enter the BIOS setup.
Even when I immediately press F! when I reboot seems to be dead.
I replaced the battery with a new one (is a lithium CR2032) but the problem still persists.
I cannot contact the manufacturer because I bought it in another country from where I live now.
Please help !! Million thanks to everybody and to this web site it's realy helpfull.

Hi hippo123 -

If I may make a suggestion: You may like to keep your thread (post and replies) together - it would be easier for you and for those responding to keep up on the latest developments on your problem.

You only need hit "Post Reply" within the thread.

Good luck!

Hi gain
Not knowing the motherboard make and bios data complicates things a little, but there are a couple of other things to try.

Can't think of a reason why BIOS would prevent you opening the Date page other than there is a bug somewhere or you are not using the correct key to open the page. Typicaly boot without a keyboard forces an F1 message and at that screen pressing the correct key opens the BIOS settings pages. I do not know which key. I have lots of help stuff but I cannot isolate the problem without any maker data.

DO NOT PRESS ANY KEY UNTILL YOU KNOW THE BIOS
MAKE! Post that back here
Finding the make - it's the first screen on the top. If it rushes by, press 'Pause Lock' that stops the POST operation and you can read the screen.
