Just got hit a few minutes ago with not one but two earthquakes about 10 seconds apart. First one lasted about 3 seconds, second one lasted about 15 or 20 seconds. Both seemed about 5.0 here in Kau where I live. Hope it wasn't worse somewhere else. The Gods are not happy. Time to toss them another virgin. Anybody know one? ;)

Civil Defense said the quake was 5.6 on the Richter scale and centered about 12 miles south from here. No reports of damage or tsunami. Yesterday we had a 5.0 quake 150 miles north of here. If they get more frequent it could be a sign that Mauna Loa is getting ready to erupt. Good fun that one. :p

We have open beam construction here so that's no problem. Our house in on post and Piers though so I worry about shifting off the blocks, but all is good. I think I'd begin to worry if we got a stronger one. We did have the tenth strongest one in the US recorded in 1869.
