I recently upgraded my Abit BH6 M.B. to a Abit BE6 to take advantage of the Ultra DMA 66, as well as have twice the IDE ports. I cannot get the Kenwood cd rom to operate on the Windows DMA setting. When checked, it asks for the usual restart. When Win 98 re-boots and I go back to system settings, the DMA is unchecked again. I have the PIO Mode set to 4 and am using IDE #2 on M.B. as requested by Kenwood, with no other devices on that channel. This drastically reduces the Kenwood performance. The BH6 worked fine with the above configuration. I even downloaded the firmware upgrade for the kenwood, but am still having the same problem. Please Help?
