I'm on a budget and looking for a new cell phone, Motorola V186 or Nokia 6010

Pro's / Cons .......?

I'd go for the Nokia personally. I can't stand those "flip open" phones, but that's just me.

When you compare the specs of the two phones, which one comes out on top?

Does you provider support both phones?

Get the v186. The v186 has EDGE (high speed internet for your cell phone) while the 6010 doesn't. The v186 has other features such as speaker phone, MP3 ringtones, and the ability to play MIDP 2.0 Java games. Not to mention the v186 has a nice 65,536 color screen compared to the 6010's 4096 color screen. :t

Thanks........

Well, the Motorola V186 seems to be the better phone overall with it's features. However, I'm a bit leary about it being a "flip" phone, how sturdy are these phones ? I'd be afraid of it snapping in 2 pieces .

I go nokia all the way, reception is always great plus they can be trashed and still work.

Flip phones don't do that as much as you would think. Only a very traumatic (like a car running over it while it's open) causes them to do that. My friend has a v180 (exactly like a v186 but without EDGE) and it took the abuse he gave it. Honestly speaking I haven't heard of a phone snapping in half. Never the less it is possible and if you know you are very abusive the Nokia might be a better choice. But the v180 is by NO means a flimsy phone. :t

I used to be wary of flip phones, but my fears seemed to be unfounded. Most damage to flip phones occurs when they are closed and people are tossing them around.
I'm not a huge fan of nokia phones. Theres just something about them that I don't like, can't tell you what it is though :)

If you get a fone wiv a propper hinge pin design you should be OK ........... If you buy a cheapy with a bent plastic arrangement you deserve to have you Gonads connected to the Dryer power supply .......

I'm a Nokia Lover ........... I'm used to the way they arrange the software........ & I haven't broken one in ages ............ So they must be good :r :r :r
