Susan 09-30-1999, 09:13 PM Your IDE Device drivers are not installed properly in Windows. Check in Device Manager and see if there are exclamations listed there. What MB are you using? Sweeper 10-01-1999, 06:00 AM Sounds like it ate it? You don't mean physically that your cd-rom disapeared do ya? /forum/redface.gif [This message has been edited by Sweeper (edited 10-01-99).] medo 10-01-1999, 06:25 AM Start in DOS mode and check if you can see CD drive and if so check your config file for CD configuration and force install in WIN95 if conflict is not isue. Othervise install DOS drivers first and repeat steps. ktwebb 10-01-1999, 08:46 AM This might be a stretch since you just installed but you could still have a boot sector virus. NYB is a boot sector virus that will make your CD vanish. CMonster 10-01-1999, 10:37 AM Susan is right. ktwebb has a valid point as well. jnas 10-01-1999, 11:02 PM Thanks for all your input as it turns out it was my sound card that caused a conflict. the sound card has ide conections and for some reason they don't get along. Susan 10-01-1999, 11:26 PM Glad it worked out and thanks for letting us know. /forum/smile.gif SysOpt.com
