Don't know why it would have halted but the next thing to try would be clearing your CMOS on the MB. Hope it works.

My experience is if the flash fails, the bios chip needs to be replaced. If you bought the board by itself, try contacting the manufacturer of the board and see if they'll send you one.

sometimes moving the jumpers will just restore defaults. had that problem with an older compaq once. try removing the bios battery for a few minutes.oh and reflash the bios.

Sorry to tell you this, but I aggree with Jbob...once your BIOS is hosed by an interrupted FLASH upgrade, its new bios chip time. This pretty much goes for all the flash upgrades you can do, eg Video Card.

The Bios is basically a program, and is run at power on. What you have done ( not intentionally ) is over-write that program with garbage, and now you will not even be able to boot to try another upgrade.

You may find it easier ( and cheaper too believe it or not ) to replace the motherboard rather than the BIOS chip.

Good Luck...

Here is what I did... I went to the store where I bought the Mother board a year ago, knowing that it had a 3 year warranty.. And I told him that it didnt work!, so he tested it.. and told me that i was getting a new and better board!! at no fee! isnt that great?
