I have an Amdk6-2 400mhz computer with 160mb of RAM and virtual memory locked at 150 in Win98 and the Quake 2 version 3.20 freezes my computer after about 5 minutes of playing. I have a Rage Pro Turbo video card with 8mb of video memory. I have the latest drivers for it. Can anyone help, i love this game but can't play it because of this.

Sounds like your Rage Pro is overheating. You can buy a cooler for it,but, personally I'd buy a better vid card. You can get a TNT-16-AGP,or,a Voodoo 2000 for well, under $70.I'd also check into some case cooling.

Try disabling external cache in the bios, then run q2, and see. If that was the problem then see about a patch for you video card, if not switch your version of windows. That should do it, though I have foind that ver C of win98 does the same thing, so use B if you have it... it also may be a patch for your MB.
I have a friend with a CL TNT card and he had the same problem. To fix it he went to the nVidia website, downloaded their latest TNT driver (it's called explosion, or boom, or something like that) and then installed his CL drivers again and now it works fine.
It's probably a driver issue I'm sure. Check the Quake 2 help files. That's where we found the solution.
