The Lodge 07-05-2005, 10:59 PM I wish. I had a heck of a time making my avatar fit the requirements. JPnyc 07-05-2005, 11:03 PM Sorry, 75x75 is the largest on any of our forums. They elongate the threads too much otherwise. zybch 07-05-2005, 11:21 PM I thought it was 64x64 here. JPnyc 07-05-2005, 11:26 PM Right, it is, here. 75x75 is on one forum, but only users with 5k posts get a custom avatar at all there, so it keeps the thread length down because there's fewer members who have them. zybch 07-05-2005, 11:35 PM The thread length didn't used to be affected at all here as the avatar, 1st ad last poster info were all in a little column at the side rather than stupidly placed at the top of each post. JPnyc 07-05-2005, 11:44 PM No, that still can affect height. We have some forums with the info on the side, and increasing avatar does increase post height. Strawbs 07-05-2005, 11:50 PM Is it possible that the avatar size limit be upped to like 100x100 or something? What! so we can better see your "Red Sox" promo? Go Indians! :p zybch 07-06-2005, 01:48 AM No, that still can affect height. We have some forums with the info on the side, and increasing avatar does increase post height. Of course, but it probably wouldn't affect it so much as there is allready a certain ammount of space reserved for the poster info. I still think 100x100 would be nice. You can fit so much more detail into the image without it being as intrusive and pathetic as most signitures are. Honestly, they make the majority of sites that use them unreadable. Strawbs 07-06-2005, 07:59 AM we don't need to see anymore details of your six-pack, thank you! It already makes those guys with beer kegs feel inept... .. apparently. zybch 07-06-2005, 08:05 AM Stiff whatsits to you, its staying. JPnyc 07-06-2005, 09:11 AM JPnyc Megalodon Administrator Join Date: Jan 2005 Posts: 43 THat's the poster info from one of my posts on another board with the info at left. THat's the actual spacing as well. As you can see, any avatar would increase the height. It depends on the length of the post as well, obviously fishybawb 07-06-2005, 09:49 AM we don't need to see anymore details of your six-pack, thank you! It already makes those guys with beer kegs feel inept... That's not Zibby. Doing a post to weight analysis, I'd say he's much hairier than that, and at least 3 stone heavier. Think strategically shaved baboon. lol j/k :p RockNRoll 07-06-2005, 10:50 AM I've been on alot of forums that have 100x100 sizes and it's really not all that bad. If the ads go back up at the top of the forum there'll be even more space and you'll hardly notice the bigger avatar. Just a suggestion. :D JPnyc 07-06-2005, 11:10 AM Apologies, but no can do. mcool61 07-06-2005, 11:29 AM That's not Zibby. I must seek counciling. RockNRoll 07-06-2005, 12:11 PM Ok so 100 high is out of the question... How about upping the length? JPnyc 07-06-2005, 12:37 PM What's the difference between height and length? You mean upping the width? RockNRoll 07-06-2005, 01:06 PM ROFL yeh lol width is what I meant... ScaryBinary 07-06-2005, 01:19 PM Sorry, 75x75 is the largest on any of our forums. They elongate the threads too much otherwise. JM and mireland elongate threads too much, too, but you keep them around. :D JPnyc 07-06-2005, 01:23 PM They create em. This is a good thing for a forum. What the heck would we talk about otherwise? Can only gripe about Hilary Clinton for so long..... mcool61 07-06-2005, 03:33 PM Hillarys not so bad. I could stand it. zybch 07-06-2005, 05:46 PM That's not Zibby. (http://www.bushorchimp.com/) RockNRoll 07-06-2005, 05:59 PM Here we go again... *rolleyes* I think he was comparing you to Leiberman... mireland 07-06-2005, 06:19 PM JM and mireland elongate threads too much, too, but you keep them around. :D ELONGATE THIS! :x mireland 07-06-2005, 06:20 PM They create em. LOL tantone 07-06-2005, 06:37 PM ROFL! I think avatars that are any larger would make this forum more like the typical idiot forums out there where there's about 60% graphics, 30% actual text to read, and 10% ads. Currently, you get a bit of customization and that's all anyone should need. EDIT: Well, actually, it's all I want/need, so if I can live with it, the rest of you can too. :t mireland 07-06-2005, 07:06 PM Well I guess that's fair as long as your into quantity not quality. I still think 100x100 wouldn't do anything to reduce the readability of these forums any more than the new vbulletin has  SysOpt.com
