Hello my brother has built a Abit m/b with a P=450 clocked at 600mhz
We need opinons on if either of his choices of hard drive and scsi controler card card could hold the other back in the maxium proformace abillity.....Can this scsi controler allow the hard drive to run at full ability . and would the hard drive have any problems with the card. Now for the really hard question hehehe....when the drive comes in, it will not come with a boot disk, so all he needs to do is insert 98 floppy boot disk and format to 32 bit correct...and then he can use Partion Magic later to partion hard drive after he has opt. sys. on and a few other progams..right.....thanks guy for your help /forum/smile.gif /forum/smile.gif /forum/smile.gif /forum/smile.gif

I've got the same SCSI controller on an Abit BX6 2.02, with an IBM 9es UltraStar HDD.

The only thing holding my system back as far as I can see has been the L2 cache on my Celeron 300a... with L2 disabled, the system runs easily at 112. Freezes occur at higher bus speeds for me, but there's no reason for me to think that the limiting factor in overclocking is the Tekram controller. I've been very happy with this product-- it has never caused an ounce of trouble since I installed it.

I don't know if this will help...
