I need to know how to partion my hard drive using xp, I switched over from 98se without much knowledge of xp. When installing windows it asked me if I wanted to partion the drive I choose to and it never let me set up the other partion??

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I take it by your post that you have windows partition and a second partition but you didn't format the second etc. Go to control panel>administrative tools>computer management>disk management and format the partition.

run diskmgmt.msc and you can create the other partition

fdisk is not necessary with XP. During setup avesterfelt created a partition that just needs to be finished. By going to diskmgmt.msc he can finish the job by creating and formatting the partition.

You need to look in Disk Management (DISKMGMT.MSC). Disk Management is well hidden. The easiest way to get to it and other consoles is to right-click My Computer and select "Manage".

Here, you can import a drive, partition, format and reletter it.
