Sounds like windows as usual. I've noticed this to, I think windows just does some cache cleanup every now and then just like a server will. I wouldn't worry to much until it actually causes problems. /forum/smile.gif

I agree,a PII233 running a 16gig HD w/Windows is going to stop occationally.Your CPU can't catch up fast enough.No real problem.If your MB can support it,you may want to go to a faster CPU.After all,a 233 is pretty slow nowadays...I know...I have one!

About every 2 minutes computer freezes up for duration of about 5-8 seconds. Checked for Findfast in start menu per member DRDEATH... removed it. Watching system monitor.. CPU runs at 1% then jumps up to 100% while nothing is being used. What sort of program running in the background would suddenly start doing this?? Or something else? No new hardware installed, no viri. System is P-233 260+ram 16 gigs about 8 full???
