Dear Fellow Optimizers:

The time clock on my machine is never correct for very long. If I don't correct it every other day letters I have word processed have the wrong date on them! I had the fellow who builds most of my machines replace the clock battery about 3 months ago, which resolved the problem till recently. I asked him again about this problem, and he responded "something is probably draining power off it from your motherboard." Is he simply evading replacing the battery again? Or is there anything to what he said?

Thanks!

I had a similar problem recently. I replaced the battery several times in a two month period. It seemed like we finally got it solved and then, poof!, it started doing it again. Eventually, we sent it in for warranty repair. It hasn't had a problem since. They never did tell us what the problem was.

I suspect something may be shorted on your mainboard.

Good Luck! /forum/smile.gif

If your 'puter is close to a couple years old or older, your MB battery needs replacing.Take the case off, and look for a dime size disk in one of the corners.Copy the info on it,and buy another one(don't take it out!)replace the battery.Your problem should be taken care of.
