I am trying to find out some info about it. Basically from what it says, you can hook up more than one analog modem to your computer to get faster speed. Has anyone tried this out? If so, does it work? From what I can tell, its something like "shotgun" technology. I want to find out if it works before i go and get another phone line put in to use it. It also says your ISP must support multilink to be able to use it (basically I think this means the ability to log in more than once at the same time.)

If anyone wants to check it out, go to My Computer/Dial Up Networking, and right click on your dial up connection and hit Properties. Then just click on the Multilink Tab.

I tried to look this up in the MS knowledge base, but it doesnt say much more than the Windows Help does about it. and thats only about 1 paragraph.

Thanks for any info.

Yes, you must have an ISP that supports it.
With exceptions...some have tried with two dialup accounts with limited success.
Two phone lines, and two modems, obviously.
Just go to the multilink tab, and add second device (after you've installed it correctly), and it will automatically dial 9 seconds after the first modem connects. This can be changed, but works well at default.
Currently surfing at 99666, connects range from around 104666 down to 90666, although your results may vary.

Cool!! Thanks that what I was wanting to hear. I wasnt sure if it would combine the speeds. Only thing now is to find out if my ISP supports it or not... they dont know much at my ISP. They havent even heard of DSL and it's their job to know these things. thanks again for the info.
