The main way this is done, is by comparing extensive exit polls to results, where the numbers don't corresond then its pretty clear that somehting fishy has been going on. Now the funny bit is that in the 2004 US elections the exit polls were wayout of whack with actual results, but this was never examined, investigated or even reported by the media very much. How can Rummy and his chums call democratic elections in other countries invalid when the very methods of spotting electoral cheating in other countries don't also get applied to his own, even though the data was all there in 2004 but just got swept under the carpet? A case of do what we say, not what we do' perhaps? Now if the Iranian elections were conducted with voting machines supplied by Diebold, Sequoia etc then I'm sure Rummy wouldn't have had a problem, after all, if that was the case then George W would have won the Iran election :) werz 06-27-2005, 05:17 AM Iran had a democratically elected government before the CIA and MI5 interfered. They caused the turmoil and complain about rigged elections now. The US is the master of rigged elections. "The History They Didn't Teach You in School"'--an occasional series. August 19th, 1953, US-backed coup ousts nationalist Mossadegh government in Iran On August 19th, 1953, the government of Mohammed Mossadegh, a nationalist, was ousted in a US-sponsored coup in Iran. The overthrow of Mossadegh was typical of American covert operations in the Cold War, eliminating a nationalist government which challenged US corporate interests by claiming it was communist. tantone 06-27-2005, 09:41 AM Very humorous. Couple of Australian's bantering about US elections. Ever voted in one? No? So, shut up. werz 06-27-2005, 09:59 AM Who gives a toss about your slide back to McCarthyism, its all the foreign governments you help topple that are coming back to bite you now, or blow you up or fly into your buildings. There's always a price to pay for arrogance and greed. tantone 06-27-2005, 10:12 AM It's the people who didn't vote for Bush who are screaming about rigged elections. If the election losers, from either side, didn't whine and protest these days then it just wouldn't ring American. But the Aussies whining and protesting US elections...who f-in cares? werz 06-27-2005, 11:58 AM So you think rigging an election is just about cheating at the the voting station, You mixed up free and fair elections with voting for the biggest liar. tantone 06-27-2005, 01:26 PM On a side-note, Iran is the biggest, current, real threat. We might as well send more troops to Iraq to prepare to head east soon. j.m@talk 06-27-2005, 05:29 PM Originally posted by tantone But the Aussies whining and protesting US elections...who f-in cares? Probably. tantone 06-27-2005, 06:06 PM Originally posted by zybch Probably. :D werz 06-28-2005, 05:29 AM The 5 or 10 suicide car bombs a day in Iraq are nerve racking enough. Invade Iran and there will thousands of Hilman Hunters packed to the roof with explosives and fanatics heading across The Great Salt Desert at the tanks and invaders, and it will be wave after wave of them. They had 'martyr' brigades who would run across minefields to clear them for there tanks, during the war with Iraq. If you wont use nukes and be prepared to expand it to the whole muslim world, do us and yourselves a favour and stay out of that lunacy. tantone 06-28-2005, 04:11 PM Originally posted by werz The 5 or 10 suicide car bombs a day in Iraq are nerve racking enough.
