Computer freezes up 4 few seconds ...then resumes again...?

Just started this...simply moving mouse on desktop causes it to freeze up then a few seconds later its ok. Defraged weekly,checked 4 viri... p-233+ 256ram
+16 gigs running great till recently???
Is my registry plugged up? Help!

Hey, your not the only one, my computer used to do that. Then for no reason, it just stopped freezing up and started working fine again. What is your vid card and cpu? I have heard of AMD's and TNT's doing that. Get the Detonator drivers if this is your setup

is it maybe your hard drive going into a "sleep" mode and then the 4 seconds your comp freezes is the hard drive spinning back up?

Have you disabled Mickiesoft's "office's find fast" from inside your startup folder? The Findfast option causes the problem you discribed when it does a search on your hard drive every 30 mins or so.
