I have been using the Motorola WR850G router for a couple of month without a problem, until now. The router has stopped forwarding ports. To verify it's not a windows problem, I connected the PC directly to the modem (also a Motorola) - and I can access these ports without a problem (e.g. VNC port 5900).

Things I have tried:
Restart the whole system - PC, Router, Modem.
Disable any Firewall on my PC .
Delete all the forwarding configuration and re-enter them.
Give the PC a new manual IP and re-enter forwarding.
Upgrade the firmware from 4.03 to 5.13
Reverting to factory default and setting up again.
Setting the DMZ to my PC - still nothing is forwarded.

If anyone has any ideas I haven't tried - I will be happy to try. The router is useless for me without forwarding. :(

I have tried several things and it comes down to this:
If my WAN IP is in the 212.xxx.xxx.xxx range - there is no forwarding.
If my WAN IP is in the 212.xxx.xxx.xx (or 81.xxx.xx.xx ) range - there is normal forwarding.
It's as if the length of the IP address affects the forwarding, but I've never heard of this before.

I never heard of this before. and you said you upgraded your firmware so that should have fix this issue if that is a issue. have you tried to forword ports for ftp like 20, 21 and a webserver 80 just make a test web server or test ftp site just to check if that will work.

Well, the problem persists. If I get a 12 digit IP - the router fails to forward. I played with my MAC address cloning until I got an 11 digit IP - and all is fine.
There is supposed to be a rewriten firmaware (v.6) released on the 29th - I hope that will be fixed.

I would make sure they know about the issue. send them a e-mail or something to make sure that gets fix.

Oh , I did. I had a few days of back and forth emails with their support team. I hope they reffered it to the development team.
