I have been trying to compress the C drive on my computer with drive space 3. When I start the compression it first starts checking the drive for errors. It gets to about 24% and then says it will shut down and restart in a special mode. When it does this it ends up with a message on the restart saying error loading vgasys.fon. This same error message now comes up each time the computer is started along with a message saying drive space could not complete the task.

I did not find a file named vgasys.fon on the hard drive, but after some research found out there is a file by this name on the windows 95 cd in win95_07.cab. I attempted to extract the vgasys.fon file but I end up with a message saying "error could not create file in directory". The extraction command I have used is \extract d:\win95\win95_07.cab vgasys.fon/l c:\...

Is there anything else I can try to get the compression program to work? Alternatively is there a way to get the machine to stop producing that error message every time it is started up?
