Can you believe this? I went to look for some EDO ram for an old Pentium PC...2 32 meg sticks of used 72 pin EDO Ram went for $120.00
So I asked if they had any used486 ram...he had 4 sticks , 4 megs each , and he wanted $50.00.
This is totally rediculous!
So what is the reason.
The REAL reason ram is so high anymore?
I have heard so many stories...anyone have the real one?

Man thats profiteering, I feel guilty asking $10 a stick for 4megs normally end up letting it go at $5 to $7-50 a stick and thats NZD so divide by 2 to get USD price comparison.

Actually, that's about right. It's the law of supply and demand. EDO isn't made any more and is simply getting real hard to come by. There appears to be alot of folks out there still clinging onto to their x486s and older Pentiums, but not willing to spring for a real upgrade. I recently unloaded a ton of the stuff (mostly 4mb and 8mb used pairs) to a dealer for a surprisingly good amount of store credit.
