I have just recently installed directx 7 and haven't noticed anything wrong with my system, but I hear everyone talking about how bad it is. The only thing I have noticed that some files are uncertified that are part of the directx dealings, but what should I look for that could be bad with this upgrade. Just wondering if I did something bad by upgrading.

I upgarded as well and havn't seen nothing about dx7.0 being bad. I've had no problems and feel it was the best thing to do. My games run a bit faster /forum/smile.gif

Just upgraded to Direct X 7.0 and haven't seen anything bad from it yet. Didn't really notice any gaming difference yet either. Benchmarks remained the same. So ?????

You all are bravier than myself. I'm not the first one on the block to get anything new like that. I choose to let others do the testings on that new stuff. Then I wait for the patch. I couldn't begin to count the thousands of computers that get rebuilt from the ground up because people installed these updates and it didn't work. And it's not the users fault that they failed either.

Upgraded. No bad, no good.

It got me. I have no doubt most people had no problem, but it rendered my machine useles for games. I would get black screen when I would run the executable. After a deltree and reinstall of windows and DX7, other anomolies occured so it 7 won't be going on my machine any time soon. 7.1 maybe? BTW, i did try for 2 hours to get my machine back including removing DX7. No dice, nothing worked. My rig does not like it at all, regardless of which Display card or driver I used. (3)

Same as Andre and most others, no increase in performance, no decrease... and the fact that there is no decrease is a huge plus! /forum/smile.gif
