line noise??

I have a friend that cannot connect with their new system because they get the message that there is too much line noise....thier old one works fine so what could be the problem??

You using the same phone port or a different one? try a different cable from modem to phone jack. I have a system do that once, it turned out the phone company had to come switch the "Pairs" on my phone jack in one room cause it caused problems when it ran by an electrical outlet in the wall (interference).
