Timed out error in Word

A friend of mine called and said she is starting to get "timed out" error when she uses MS Word.

She gets five or six words typed and then the error hits and shut down MS Word.

Never heard of this....any thoughts??

I would just re-install, does take long compared to trying to find the root problem.
