Ok, i have the mentioned drive, and it works fine as a cdrom i.e i can read cdroms from it.
However, no CDR programs recognise it as a CDRW drive. There were no drivers with the cd, should there have been?. Also, where can i find a driver if needed. I have tried everywhere- yamaha, driverguide, winfiles etc.
Anyhelp appreciated

There are no drivers for this CD-RW.

The SCSI card and it's drivers are all you need. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your SCSI controller. This is important.

Some things you might check:

Under properties of the drive, in device manager, make sure sync data transfer is selected.

Go thru your software (what are you using?) settings to double check if something obvious isn't being overlooked. All CD soft should have a selection for both reader and writer (source/target).

Check for improper temination or a mismatched setting in the scsi controller's BIOS, as pertaining to this drive.
