older Printers under Win98

I changed my old P90 for a brand new P400 with Win98 . Cool would you say , but i've a little prob : My printer (Olivetti JP360)
doesn't want to work with 98 . Internal test page is printed without any problem , but i can't print anything from the computer .
All i see is caracters like hearts , smileys
ë , arrows and so on , and only on the first line . Then , it grabs another page and does the same ... Any explanation ???

Go to www.olivettilexikon.com/customercare/jp.html (http://www.olivettilexikon.com/customercare/jp.html) . They have a printer driver for a jp360 for lotus-wonder if it would work in windows?

Have you tried printing from DOS?
Could the printer cable be bad( ie. not shielded)?
Maybe some silly questions for you but I had this problem too (with a different printer).
