Doom 3 ROE help.... stuck!

I just got this game from a friend and am playing the first level almost through or half way..

The part I am at is where he enters this space in the ruins and the evil guy pops up( or at least his voice from the center fire orb ) and releases some new demons...


I am pitted against a modified Hellknight( no legs ) and he keeps shooting fireballs at me. I have the weapon that throws things back and have tried evrything in my arsenal to kill him but he is invincible or so it seems. Throwing fireballs back is just a waste of time.

I will go and look for a walkthorugh ,even though I never use one but for impossible situations.

There are these things they look like fireballs, but I think they are blue or green, somewhere in between. So you use your grabber gun to grab those and throw it at him. I don't remember how many though, I think about 3 to 6. But that is what you do.

Yeah..there are these two machines on both sides..that spew greenish white fireballs..and wondered about this. Nothing kills the guy. I have thrown a hundred of his fireballs right back and nothing happens.

Sometimes in games I get tired of how game makers always have to put some little part in a game that slows the action and you spend hours just trying to get through one little sequence. Personally, I think its a pain in the rear. Fun factor is lost in my opinion.

I got the same problem ... only the gravity gun doesnt work... oh well, time for new drivers, I guess.
(BTW, ROE is aprox $15 at best buy this week)

Thanks for the tips StarikBob... yur clues worked. It was a little wild..but he went down just as you said puling in the greenblue fireballs from the two machines.

I have to put in some two cents worth in some support for those who find the game extremely dark. It is..pure and simple and this one seems even darker.
Have not dl'ed the patch for the flashlight to helmut mod but thinking about it. of course I like playing a game just the way its set up..so probably will just go along as usual.

I like the fact that you now have someone who follows your moves from HQ'ters...and explains in dialog next objectives and what to look out for..nice touch.

Am on part third part now.., the next part after the previous level. ;)

What's the person say... turn right when you get to the area full of shadows, then go down aways till you get to an intersection and then go down the darker one?

Alright.. A little sarcasm goes a long ways. It does seem like that heh??
