So does this make the Celeron a high end CPU at last??? Would it be better to get one of these or a 3.0ghz + 32bit P4???

No, the Celeron is still low end...P4 is the high end. A 3.0 GHz P4 will surely outperform a Celeron in 32-bit applications. :t

For the average joe I think the 3.2ghz model would be a pretty descent processor. I would consider replacing my old P4 with one of these.

they are just putting out there since their fab is already making the 64 bit Pentium4 (not really going to be P4 anymore). I still wouldn't bother with a celeron. many people suspect that celerons are merely defective p4s. basically part of the cache is bad, so they disable it and call it a Celeron.

Which is a smart idea (and legitimate since they are advertising it honestly). :t

Well, it's like anyone else in the business. AMD does it too (Duron, Sempron).

Basically, they are trying to make chicken salad out of chicken *bleep*. (I censored myself, but you know what I mean. :D)
