Can the dual-core processors be run on Windows 98/Me and Linux, etc?

I have just spent half an hour looking for this info with Google and on AMD's site but without success.

I don't see why they shouldn't because the motherboard has to support dual-core processors and its drivers should allow it to work with Windows 98, etc.
