I attempted to update my BIOS on my Abit ZM6. Everything seemed to go according to Abit's directions until I discharged the CMOS with the jumper on the board. After I reset the jumper, nothing loads. I get two funny beeps and nothing else. No post, no nothing. The floppy and CD-ROM appear usable. I tried running AWDFLASH again from the floppy, but get nothing. I have no video to see if anything is actually running. Is there something that I can download and put on a floppy to fix whatever I did wrong??

Beep codes generated by this Bios are for the video. Usaully the Vid-ram/bios cache/shadowing is disabled before udating the Bios, along with couple other settings. You are probably aware of this, since you followed the instructions.
However, things happen..
If the floppy is indeed usable, you should still have a way out. Remove your vidcard and install an ISA vicard and reboot to the bootable floppy you made with the bios image and flash utility.
"Modern motherboards based on Award BIOS have a boot-block BIOS. This is small area of the BIOS that doesn't get overwritten when you flash a BIOS. The boot-block BIOS only has support for the floppy drive."
"The boot-block BIOS will execute an AUTOEXEC.BAT file on a bootable diskette. Copy an Award flasher & the correct BIOS *.bin file on the floppy and execute it automaticly by putting awdflash *.bin in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file."

Whew, thanks! That was a scary one. I threw in an old video card and was able to see what I was doing. I used the newest version of the awardflash from bxboards and a fresh copy of the latest BIOS and it worked beautifully this time. Perhaps the awdflash.exe from Abit was corrupted or maybe the BIOS file I used originally was corrupted.? Who knows - it's back and I'm happy! Thanks for your info!!

Sorry, I've no help to offer, but everytime I read of someone having this trouble lately it's on an Abit motherboard???
